Efficiency” and “productivity” are not educational values. Companies like McGraw-Hill Education are trying to solve the business problem of a collapsing printed textbook market by siphoning public money towards technology. The claims that they are trying to help teachers, not replace them, are belied by their own CEO’s statements, and the ineluctable forces of market-based “solutions.

Now, like my friends’ exes and people I’ve randomly emailed once, Kalsoom shows up on my gchat buddy list. Thank goodness because I never would have come across her bucket list tumblr otherwise.  Kalsoom created a bucket list and is really checking things off. She’s done more in the past 2 months than I have in my 2.5 years in DC. Time to create my own list and saddle up! This is why you never spring clean buddy lists (or maybe I’ll justify just about anything)
